Access-To-Finance:

Identification

  • Classify Funding Sources taking into consideration various elements such as Fund Providers, Stage of Venture Development, Criteria for Access
  • Conduct extensive research for different types of local and global Funds available for ventures at the different stages of their development
  • Share research findings and information, and facilitate collaboration among other EDCs to ensure comprehensive database of various Funding Sources Sample Categories of Funds e.g. CBN Intervention Funds/NERFUND, BOI Bottom-of-Pyramid Fund, Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme, Growth Enterprise Insurance Scheme (through BOI), International Development Funds (e.g. DFID, USAID), State Government/MDA Intervention Funds (unique to each regional EDC), Private Sector/High Net worth Individual (HNI) Foundations/Funds, Commercial or Micro Finance Bank Lending Products.

Aware/Prepare

  • Provide information on Types and purpose of Funds relevant to Stage of venture development
  • Educate on Administrative Requirements to access Funds
  • Facilitate access to Fund Managers or Providers such that the participants have direct interaction and familiarization
  • Prepare participants to acquire the necessary requirements
  • Assist participants to develop bankable business plans
  • Collaborate with Funds Providers to profile participants using acceptable Personality Assessment or Credit Scoring tools
  • Assist to complete documentations, secure guarantor and provide appropriate collateral

Access/Monitor

  • Provide support to participants to register with various stake-holders groups or institutions such as MAN, Traders Associations, Credit Bureau institutions etc. to access funds
  • Monitor all successful participants to ensure appropriate utilization of funds for the purpose granted
  • Assist Funds Providers to ensure repayments in line with stipulated terms of credit administration

Access-To-Market:

Identification

  • Provide research services to identify market opportunities in the local environments and international markets for exports
  • Conduct extensive research for different Value Chain of Industries in local and global environments to identify key Industry Players, Opportunities, and Linkage requirements etc., to assist participants in development of their ventures
  • Regularly share research findings and information, and facilitate collaboration among other EDCs to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date database of various Market opportunities and requirements for access

Aware/Prepare

  • Describe value chains of Industry relevant to economic activity in localities, with potentials for significant value contributions
  • Assist with Requirements (such as Operational, Logistics and Administrative) to become a player within the value chains
  • Encourage to attend seminars, conferences, trade shows and facilitate interactions with key stakeholders
    • International, Regional and National Agencies and Custodians of Agreement /Treaties e.g. AGOA, NEPAD, ECOWAS, Lome Agreement
  • Prepare participants to acquire the necessary requirements to access and secure markets relevant to stage of development
  • Assist to develop bankable business plans in line with the areas of ventures or improvement/expansion plans
  • Assist participants to obtain and complete required documentations

Access/Monitor

  • Provide support to participants to register with various stakeholders groups or institutions such as MAN, Traders Associations, Credit Bureau institutions etc.
  • Facilitate access and interaction with Collaboration Agencies such as SON, NAFDAC to achieve Quality Certification and continued quality standards that meet requirements of local and international markets.
  • Monitor all successful participants to assess progress in the market
